Afghan forces carried out unprovoked firing along Pakistan-Afghanistan border
Between 13 and 18 May, Afghan forces carried out unprovoked firing along Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Kurram and surrounding areas, indiscriminately targeting military as well as civilian population residing in near border areas.
To this unwarranted provocation and to secure the civilian population, Pakistani security forces deployed along the border effectively responded and engaged the Afghan positions.
Reportedly, Afghan forces have suffered heavy damages/losses.
On 18 May, after the fire exchange with Pakistani security forces, Afghan forces have approached for a Border flag meeting to negotiate a ceasefire.
Pakistan is a peace loving nation and would ensure security of its borders and safety of its citizens.
