A joint intelligence-based operation
A joint intelligence-based operation was conducted by the Lakki Marwat Police and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Bannu Region in Abbasa Khattak.
Acting on a intel that terrorists from a banned organization were planning to attack Police Chowki Abbasa and Daadiwala police station, the operation team responded promptly to the area.
Upon arrival, they were met with a barrage of hand grenades and gunfire from the terrorists.
In self-defense and to apprehend the terrorists, the operation team returned fire, engaging in a 20-25 minute exchange.
Two key terrorists from the Tipugal Group were neutralized, while four or five associates escaped into the mountains under the cover of darkness.
Efforts to apprehend the fleeing terrorists are ongoing.
The police recovered two Kalashnikovs, eight magazines, numerous cartridges, and four hand grenades from the deceased terrorists.
