A delegation of international beverage companies called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in Islamabad.
The delegation members paid tribute to the government’s pro-business policies led by the Prime Minister.
The delegation informed that international beverage companies have around 25 factories in Pakistan providing direct employment to 130,000 people.
The delegation apprised the Prime Minister about the largest recycling system in the country by the companies and said that these companies pay a huge share of taxes to the national exchequer every year.
The government is providing all kinds of assistance to foreign investors and business community to provide employment in the country, increase the country’s exports and play its full role in economic development.
It is heartening to note that the pro-business policies of the government have started yielding positive results.
International companies should play their positive role through activities under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR);
The Prime Minister directed the concerned authorities to present a solution to the problems of international companies soon after consulting them on their suggestions.
The meeting was attended by a delegation led by Volkan Onguc, Vice President of Coca-Cola Pakistan and Afghanistan, Muhammad Khosa, CEO PepsiCo, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Federal Ministers Jam Kamal Khan, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Abdul Aleem Khan and concerned senior officials also attended the meeting.
